About AEStego

AEStego is an offline utility for embedding and extracting data within images using steganography, with optional AES-256 encryption and hardware-bound protection when enabled.

How It Works

You select a carrier image, choose a text payload or file payload, and optionally enable encryption. AEStego embeds the data into the image and can later extract it from the stego image. All processing happens locally on your device.

Common Questions

How do I embed data?

Open AEStego, select a carrier image, enter text or choose a file to embed, then tap the embed action. If encryption is enabled, use a strong password.

How do I extract data?

Select the stego image you want to inspect, then run extraction. If the payload was encrypted, you will be prompted for the password.

What happens if I forget my password?

Encrypted payloads cannot be recovered without the correct password. If Hardware-Bound Mode was used, the payload may also require the original device’s secure hardware to decrypt.

Does the app send data to servers?

No. AEStego operates offline and does not transmit data to any server.
